We are a mother and daughter team, Antoinette and Susan, who research our family tree, and write stories about our discoveries. Those stories are all factual, but we also add fiction, to bring the history alive.

We are strong believers of protecting the privacy of all our visitors, which means your personal information will never be used beyond the permissions you give us or as required by law.

On this site, as mentioned above, personal data may be collected, processed and used. The way your information is used is to contact you regarding any questions you’ve asked or suggestions you’ve made. This includes comments on our posts and subscriptions to our website. Daughters of Time may employ trusted third party specialists to process and use your data on our behalf in order to deliver content to you in a more efficient manner.

What personal data is collected and why?

Comments
When you leave a comment on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form (name, email and website), and also your IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. We reserve the right to publish comments made on posts or pages on Daughters of Time. The email address you provide when you comment will never be published. You are allowed to use any email address to comment. The WordPress software records the IP address of your device when you comment, but that IP address is never published and it will be removed from the system if you request to have all of your data removed. This means all your comments will be removed too.

When you comment on this website, the avatar shown will be initials generared by WordPress. Since this is system-generated, no personal details are recorded for it.

Contact forms
Anyone who use a contact form on Daughters of Time is asked to supply personal data, such as name and email address. In the case there is no contact form, and you choose to send us an email, obviously your email address and name will be visible when you send us an email.

Your data will never be used for anything beyond the reason stated in your email and the permissions you grant us.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as it does when you use the original website. Daughters of Time currently uses no analytical service such as Google Analytics.

How long is your data retained?

When you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely, unless you request to have all your comments removed. This data is stored so any future comments can be recognized and not be marked as spam. Please note that all first comments on Daughters of Time are manually approved.

What rights do you have over your data?

When you have left comments on either site, you can request to receive a copy of those comments. You can also request for any personal data held about you to be erased.
